Today is Tommy's 2nd birthday! Instead of cake, we celebrated by making gingerbread houses.
How times the phrase, "Less in your mouth and more on the house!" was uttered no one will ever know for sure. But I'm sure anyone could make an educated guess.

Then we wore the sugar off by playing every toddler's favorite game: hide under the covers, pretend to go to sleep then throw the blanket off and scream, I'm awake!
Ok, maybe her Mama was the one who built the pumpkin patch and row of carrots and spinach in the back yard.

But the gummi dinosaurs were all her.

Cute haircut for Oly! She sure does love the go to sleep-wakeup, wakeup, wakeup game. It was a favorite game when I was there but only after much jumping on the bed. Those are some sweet gingerbread houses...very nice Oly and Tommie.
On Sunday we are going to make graham cracker houses - like when you were kids. Chris never made them growing up. Last year we had one of the store bought houses, but I think we will go with graham crackers and make a village. The boy scout in him will be fun. I have started buying candies for it. Found some really great little rock sands that are more shale like and not big bourlders. The pumpkins and other veggies were a nice touch!
oops - rock candies
Ashley bought them each a kit, because the likelyhood that they'd sit still and wait for us to build them graham cracker houses was NOT going to happen. Next year! Also next year I'll be making my own. I LOVED making them growing up with Robert and Tom.
I went to a specialty candy store and got sugar legos too- they really work! The kids weren't that into them though surprisingly.
