Olygirl at 4 and a Half

Here is a snapshot of Olympia Louise in the summer of her 4th year:

-Wants to live in South Africa when she grows up, or "maybe on the New Jersey Beach and you guys will live across the street from me."

-Be a Mama

-Not get married but wait.... "if I do decide to get married you and Papa can come to my wedding."

-Says she loves me a "tradullion" and she loves Wynnie 42.

Here's a conversation she and I had the other day when I wouldn't let her watch television:

O: When I grow up you won't be the boss of me and I'll be able to watch TV all day!

H: But you'll need to work to pay for your TV.

O: TVs cost money???
H: Yeah, so you won't be able to watch it because you'll be working to pay for it.
O: Well I'll just marry a man or a woman who will work and make money and I can just stay home and be a Mama.
H: Do I watch TV all day?
O: No.
H: Because being a Mama is work too!
O: No it's not! You don't have an office!
H: It's only lunchtime and so far today I've fixed you food three times, cleaned up spilled milk, unloaded the dishwasher, washed some of your laundry, got out toys for you, cleaned them up, pretended to be a cat when you asked me to... Not to mention all of the things I've done for your brother!
O: Oh. Right.

Good to open her eyes to the fact that good Mommas work very hard, everyday, to take care of their children. Very interesting conversation.
