Ballet

She has officially started ballet class, and she's fully immersed in ballerina life.  There's a class of about 12, with no parent involvement and Oly and her school classmate Scarlett are the oldest ones there!  Can you imagine?  Anyway here's a video for the die-hards of her jumping around with her skirt tucked into her tights.  And yes, all three of us know she's not doing a 'plie', but I think she's sick of performing for us and wanted to be a little contrary.

You should not have to be asked to applaud.

Thank you for my morning laugh. That is a bit sad she had to ask for her applause. Is she going to take ballet lessons? Her four MacDonald great aunts took ballet, we have pictures if Oly wants to see them.

Please people, do you know how many times we had already clapped for her? One thing Miss Olympia is not lacking is applause.

Re applauding: She actually prefers to order us to do it and then see us comply.

Margie: She would be so excited to see pictures of her Aunts as Ballerinas! When we went to the "ballet store" to buy her "ballet outfit", she was incredulous that she didn't get pointe shoes. "BUT REEEEEEAAAAL BALLERINA SHOES HAVE BLOCKS OF WOOD IN THE TOES! WHYYYYY DON'T MIND HAVE BLOCKS OF WOOD??????"

I will get ahold of Kathie, because she has the pictures of the them. I will have to find pictures of me. As for toe shoes - you have to be a really big girl to have toe shoes. Little girl ballerinas have to wear slippers until they are big girls. How big was Clara? She wasn't even big enough to have toe shoes yet, she wears slippers. Ankles have to be strong enough to hold up the whole body. I know it is hard to be patient.

Sorry about thinking you did not applaud, of course you did.
