And here is the post with the pictures that did NOT include Baby Vivi:
Our flight out was before sunrise on Wednesday morning, so we stayed at the Sheraton Hotel at the airport Tuesday night. It's 8 floors high and the whole thing is open to the restaurant in the middle. In the tables on the far left next to the paintings, you can see Tim and Oly waiting for their burgers to arrive.
We thought she was finally ready for her very first gum, a treat for being good on the plane. She lasted about 25 seconds before she swallowed it, which is better than we should have expected. We'll try again when she's 5.
We stayed at a beautiful B and B in LaConner the first night, and our room looked out over Hedlin Farms, which is where Aunt Dana works in the summertime.
We went with Grandma Pony to Hope Island, where she remembers spending tons of time with her family when she was a girl:
Oly being Oly, she just walked right into the Sound. "I think it's going to be warm. Nope! It's sooo cold!"
She was freezing, but stayed in the water most of the time up to her waist.
It was an absolutely exquisite view:
Then we went out to eat at LaConner Brewery and she drew this picture of me:
Best picture ever of me, Mom and Dana:
While in LaConner we met up with Judy, one of Mom's oldest friends who is soul mates with Olympia. They just match up perfectly. Two trouble makers if I ever saw any.
After a relaxing night at the B and B we got coffees and walked around LaConner. Oly was so frustrated that we couldn't go down and climb on the boats.
This is one of my favorite pictures of all time:
Looking out over the Channel onto the Reservation:
(I guess if you don't know what's actually in the picture, this is pretty annoying. But I think it's beautiful)
After the first night in LaConner we went to the house on Big Lake that we rented to stay with Jeff, Niki and Vivian. It was tons of fun and all of the pictures from there are in the previous post. Except for this one of Grandpa reading Oly a bedtime story:
Because of a TV show Oly watches where a little girl is a Doctor for stuffed animals, she knows what these grabber tanks are. She begged to try them out and I gave her a dollar, knowing that after two misses she would forget about these scams and put all of her future money in a savings account instead. Nope. THE KID WON A STUFFED ANIMAL ON HER FIRST TRY!!!!!!! Which was the worst thing that possibly could have happened, because now she thinks they're a cinch.
So the whole reason we were in the Valley in the first place was because Grandpa Mac and Michelle were getting married! We partied out at the Rexville Grange and I got so few pictures that it's a crime.
Here's Oly jamming in mid air:
And here she is, like my sister Dana and I did 25 years ago when my Dad would play music there, asleep on a bench near the stage while an extremely loud rock band was playing.
And here's probably the only good picture of Dad and his 3 girls:
Dana (26), Hallie (29) and Rosie (36). Rosie lives in California and we only see her every few years. See any family resemblance? Naaaaaah.
I think this one's my favorite though:
See? I told you I had terrible pictures of the wedding. Sorry about that.
