And then, when she runs out of things to talk about, she just does this:

And on a completely unrelated topic, school starts in 6 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cape May For The Day

We spent the day 'down the shore' with Tommy and his family.  The morning started out wonderfully breezy and cool, then turned to sunny and scorching.  Ashley, Tim and I each spent HOURS holding Oly's hand in the surf and letting the waves wash over us.  She squealed with delight the same way every single time.

Gold Medal Diving

Oly has decided that she wants to be an olympic diver when she grows up.  We watched the competitions on television religiously and after practicing on the couch, she was ready to do it in the water:

A perfect belly flop!  She's really swimming until about second 16 when she can finally reach the bottom.

What We've Been Up To

Oly and I went to the Apple store to get a replacement charger and while I waited to be served (how is it that there are more employees than customers in that store and still you wait 45 minutes even if you have an appointment?)  Anyway, Oly walked over to the tiny table with an iPad on it, which she's never seen before and completely mastered it.

Naps:

(that man standing with Oly is Ed, the contractor who is fixing the broken 100 year old pipes, putting up a new kitchen ceiling and patching the giant holes in our walls that he made in the first place)

A new sidewalk means.....

Oly, Tommy '12:

Then the two of them built a rocket out of spare wood in the garage.

Those may look like snow boots, but they're really rocket boots.  This all kept them busy for at least an hour:

Remember Ed?  Well he and Oly are buddies and he invited us over to his house to visit his animals.

Bears:

Unphotographed dogs, and Koi fish:

Sometimes when Tommy is near, she just needs to reach over and give him a suffocating squeeze:

She's obsessed with Pixie Dust, so I gave her a sheet of yellow tissue paper.  She spent 90 minutes tearing it up into tiny pieces so we could fly.

Babies

Here is the audio of Oly's first heartbeat in utero:

And here is the audio of Baby #2's first heartbeat in utero!

Isn't he or she cute?  This is a 3-D ultrasound picture from yesterday.  The head is up top to the left with the profile right in the middle of the photo.  It's little arms are up around it's neck and it's belly's on the bottom.  Anybody see it?  Or do you have to be one of it's parents?

We've started the second trimester so I'm feeling much better than the last few months.  Finally.

First week of February we will be a family of 4!

Selfout

Oly: "A helmet is a house for a head. A selfout is a house for your self."

Me: "A selfout? What's a selfout?"

Oly: "You know, a selfout! Like in the Olivia book. She says 'she even wears her self out.'"

Summer Farmer Visit

As you've already read, the Reading-Farmers visited last weekend and mostly we just swam at the pool.  But we also had a dance party:

Read a lot:

Snoogled with Shady:

And the night that Amy and Jay went on a date in the city, the 5 of us went on a date to Iron Hill.  The girls dressed up for the occasion:

And we all rode in Papa Guy's new pick-up trick!

None of the pictures at the restaurant turned out, but here's a recap of the rest of the night:
the kids were well-behaved, ate all of their dinner, had a DIVINE time at the frozen yogurt shop, came home, built a fort, watched The AristoCats and went to bed.  Perfection.
