FIRST REAL FOOD!!!!

Wynn is 5 months!  So since, like his sister, he's been trying to get food off of our plates and out of our mouths, it was time for real food.

So with this little fatty, what would you guess he thought about rice cereal???

Yeah, he completely freaking loved it.  Loved it.  Ate half the bowl, which no baby has done with their first food in the history of babies.

And then the next day for lunch?  Pounded it.  Again.

So now tonight we tried some real food.  Sweet Potato!

Yep, this kid's an eater!

Rubbed it all over himself then licked it off of his arms.

The Big Race!

Well, more like a medium race.
The Media 5 Miler was last weekend.  It's a huge deal in our town, lots of locals run it, and tons of people have huge parties to celebrate.  Out of the 4 house parties on our small block, there were probably 150 guests.  Well this year, we wanted to party too.  Considering it comes by our cross street (twice!) we invited people over to celebrate (others running.)

The kids wore their swimsuits and splashed each other:

Gretchen, Oly, Sydney and Liam:

After an AWESOME dinner of BBQ'd Timmy Chicken (you had to be there) plus potato salad, green beans, watermelon and fabulous drinks, it was time to watch the race!

Here's how Wynn watched it:

Here's Oly:

And wait, who's that guy whose face is being obscured by our friend Marc's high-fiver?

Oh it's Papa Guy!

Yes, Papa ran the race!  Actually, he runs it several times a week because for the last few months he's been jogging the race route as his exercise, the exercise that has helped him get incredibly fit.  So it wasn't much of a stretch, but competition is healthy.  Don't try to look his name up on the final results- you won't find it.  That's because he procrastinated months ago in registering, but the day before the race I managed to score the bib of a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend who injured herself.  Papa ran as a 47 year old woman, and don't you know he managed to place *4th* in his age group! (45-49 year old women) He was 198th out of 1259 people overall.  38 minutes and 42 seconds, about 6 times faster than I could  have done.  I'd be working for a 20 minute mile, not a 7 min. 40 sec. pace.

Another Summery Photo Dump

Can you tell I am, like, waaaay too tired to write witty titles and narratives on this blog anymore?

Charlie:
(A hand-me-down from Tommy, a shirt I ordered from buyolympia.com a few years ago for him for Christmas.  FYI, Charlie's hand-me-down's come back to Wynnie)

Oly extremely brave on the big slide at the pool!

I went outside the other day, looked down, and picked six 4 leaf clovers and.....

One 5 leaf.  If anyone needs any luck, I can send some your way.

These are some of the best pictures ever taken:

Wynn can't have rice cereal until TOMORROW (more on that later) but he has sucked on a few green beans.  He's a super fan:

Father's Day

Saturday night we took Papa Guy out to dinner at Terrain, which was totally Oly's idea!  Smart daughter.  Both kids were delightful.

(Our reservations were for 5:30 so the restaurant would be empty, just in case they were bad!)

Then Sunday morning Oly and I made a huge spread of sausages and blintzes- all unphotographed because they went into our bellies so quickly.

Here she is later on in the bath playing with shaving cream.  Only the finest toys for our children.

Here's this chubba in his Nike shimmer shorts from his work-out crazy Aunt Niki and Uncle Jeffrey:

Size 12 months and only fit when his diaper is dry.  If it swells at all when wet, it cuts off the circulation in his belly.

The rest of Father's Day was spent cooking up a beautiful pork shoulder and watching golf with the kiddos:

Big Summery Photo Dump

Wynnie can hang with the big kids:

I call this picture, "Little House on The Prairie.....In Hell"
That's snot on her face if your'e wondering.

This is how we shower here on 7th street: Keepin' it classy.

But when the sprinkler doesn't get all the mud off, you have to resort to the tub:

You should have seen how dirty the bathroom was when they were done!

Wynnie and Maya, who has a(nother) baby brother on the way in a few months.

Our favorite little family, who left this morning for 3 weeks!  Not sure how we'll survive:

I took these pictures to send to Ashley's husband with the text, "this is perhaps why your wife spends so much money on clothes for the kids."
