Philly

It's Dana's last day in Pennsylvania, so we went into the city ("Adelphia" as Oly calls it) to get cheesesteaks and wooder ice.

Honk and Oly waiting patiently at Tony Luke's:

Oly likes hers wit onions and cheese wiz.

Then we walked along South Street,

and got her first wooder ice (the first that she remembers, she had some last summer.)

Oly cried all of the way home because she still wanted to go to Philadelphia, we couldn't convince her that we'd spent the last several hours there. How do you describe a municipality to a toddler?

Party Time

Since it's February, it's holiday party time for Veritable. We got all fancied up (well, I got fancied up, Timmy put on the same nice clothes he wears every single weekday.) The party was at the Philadelphia Art Museums Perelman Building where, besides the press, we were the first to see an exhibit on Marc Chagall.

Oly got to stay home with Aunt Dana and eat sherbert and watch Finding Nemo!

Snow Gnome

Weeks and weeks and weeks ago Olympia's Amazing Aunt Amy sent along a tiny little package with a gnome hat inside to match her cousins'. Aunt Amy is a fantastic knitter and has created masterpieces for Oly for every stage of her life. Here are some photos during a recent snow-outting:

Papa Is Home!

This is a few days before Papas return, a picture of Olympia eating a green bell pepper like an apple. After eating most of it with her hands she asked for a butter knife to slice it into pieces and then finished it. This kid is not right.

And now he's home! And in the tent!

These are pictures of O doing some art while we wait for him to wake up from one of his many naps, because he's completely wrecked from the trip.

Sunday she couldn't be away from him while he made dinner, so she helped him snap green beans, her Nana taught her well:

Tonight she had a breakdown because we weren't having beans again.

Update for Papa Guy

Papa Guy is away on a business trip for 5 more days (and he's already been away for what feels like forever) so I've been trying to take lots of pictures of our quaint little life that he misses so much.

"Dana, you wanna do paint wif meeeeee?"

Eating dried cranberries in a new coat:

Smile Oly:

Betty sent us... wait for it.... A BOX OF LEMONS! It was the most beautiful gift any girl could receive on the third month of constant snow. The first thing I did was decorate the entire house with them, stuffing them into every vase I could find. Now I'm starting to cook with them, making Limoncello this morning. Oly wanted to eat one, so I let her:

"It's yucky!"

(There isn't a smudge on your monitor, that's paint on her face.)

New tent!:

She laid in the tent and listened to Aunt Dana read her the longest book she's ever sat for. Seriously impressive.

Cold Walk

It seemed like a good idea at the time! We waited for the kids to get up from their naps and then went for a walk at Ridley Creek State Park.

Here's some history we saw:

It was beautiful out:

But we underestimated the wind up on the hill and the kids started to freeze in their strollers. Tommy threw a giant fit about walking himself, then refused to move:

We took the above picture so we'd remember where we left him when we came back to get him the next day.

The cold was really painful on their tiny hands and chubby cheeks. There were tears the entire way home. Nothing that a little naked time with Yo Gabba Gabba and hot chocolate milk couldn't help though.

I can't leave you with that picture, it's too sad!

So here's a glimpse of our fox, he lives on our block somewhere and likes to run through our yard:

And here's a picture of Oly eating Rainbow Sherbet yesterday afternoon. She asked for it with such confidence, I couldn't argue!

Oh, it looks like when I put those flowers in a new vase I forgot to give them water.....

Valentine Party

The night before:

When it's 28 degrees outside and the fridge is full of food, you can put the drinks on the porch!

Ashley and Carly frosted about 150 cupcakes:

Homemade marshmallow frosting:

A few of the girls doing some art:

So here's the cardboard laid out with art supplies spread evenly at the beginning of the party:

Baby Alex had a blast:

Ran out of cups:

So here's the 'damage', the house basically looks exactly like it did before I cleaned it for the party!:

Parties are so much fun!
