Jeff and Niki

Mostly it's "Deff" and "Inkin" but hey, it's close!

Update

Bounty!

When you go to the Doctor's office as often as Oly does, you get pretty good at Legos.
(She's been having unexplained fevers with no other symptoms; so after lots of tests the Doctor is perplexed but not at all worried. I think he's actually tickled to have a mystery on his hands, and Oly is perfectly happy and comfortable, so don't worry.)

What do you do when it's 95 degrees and the power goes out? Sit on the porch, open a bottle of wine and order in from Iron Hill.

Giddy-up.

Perspective

To show how truly awesome Amy's new camera is, here's a picture that I took with my point-and-shoot during the fireflies' capture:

The Reading/Farmers Summer Visit 2010

The Fam came down from Ithaca to finally see Oly in all of her chatty glory. They last saw her at Christmas time and all of the kids have changed a lot since then. We got right into things:

Sunday morning we went to Chanticleer Gardens and walked around in the sweltering heat. Here we are pausing to rest and snack in some shade:

Then after naps it was time for the annual block party for our new neighborhood.

There were lots of new friends to make:

While the bigger kids played organized games, Olympia fed Chewie, this little mop of a dog:

And dutifully carried around every punch balloon she could find.

Meanwhile there was candy to smash out of a pinata:

And potato sack races to win. The 2nd place finisher was not so happy about the ringer that was brought down from New York.

We had a fantastic time all weekend and I'm hoping Amy has more pictures to post of the pool swimming, the firefly catching, the neighbor cat chasing, the bike riding, the dancing, etc. etc. etc. that I missed. What we don't have are photos of the chorus of tears from all of the children when we parted and they drove back home. They were wailing in unison- but not in key.
