East Coast Weather

It has been an absolutely gorgeous day today. It was sunny, about 65 degrees, even slightly muggy. Hallie was seconds away from taking a walk with the baby without coats on when this happened:

Jumping Ballerina

The first time you watch this you'll chuckle because she looks so uncoordinated. But the second time you watch she seems quite graceful. Like a little ballerina....with elf shoes on....and naked from the waste down.

Brilliant Baby.

People, she's clearly a genius.

Johnny Jumper

Make an appointment with the chiropractor right now, because we don't know how to flip video files. If anyone else does, please help us.
This is a short video showing a happy face- she doesn't quite have the jumping part down yet.

Bumbo!

Olympia can now sit in the Bumbo! Jasper had a problem with flipping himself right out of it, but Oly fits nice and snug. She's not going anywhere.

Soon she will eat while sitting in this! But right now she practices her hand-eye coordination by trying to swat at her train.

We can't wait for the day when we plop her in this out in the garden.

Spitting Video!

Our baby is a complete and utter genius:

Part XI: The trip home

Saying goodbye:

Admiring the bladder art(?) at Sea-Tac Airport. Wait, admiring is not the right word.....

On the airplane:

Schooling our fellow passengers at the in-flight trivia game.

Making ourselves at home in the Atlanta airport. Notice the costume change? I'll let you guess why that was necessary....

Part X: Monday, March 9

Monday we lazed around and hung out with the remaining family we had left to see. Here she is chatting with Great Uncle Bob and Judy:

Then she charmed her Great Uncle John and he promised to teach her any instrument she wanted someday.

Being cute:

Pulling Hank's hair:

Just chillin' in the hot tub:

Part IX: Sunday, March 8

Aunt Niki helped her through an epic crying fit in the morning. It's a good thing she has buff arms because she had to hold Oly like this through an entire nap afterward.

When she woke up she enjoyed making fart noises with Uncle Jeffrey.

Then had some snuggle time with Silly Grandmom

All dressed in her jean jacket and new shoes from Silly Grandmom.

We went over to (great) Aunt Margie's for dinner with the MacDonald family. She took a nap with Grandpa Mac first thing. I mercifully am not posting the many pictures of them asleep with their mouths gaped open.

She met her Great Great Auntie Bea

Oly Lou and Margie Lou

Tragically, we didn't get any pictures of her with her Great Aunt Luciann.

Here she is playing with "cousins" Josephine (2)...

...and Olivia with Mama LaLasha. (Actually Oly's Mama is cousins with these babies' Grandma. Figure that out.) Olivia is 1, and was outweighed by Olympia weeks and weeks ago.

Josephine doing crafts with her Great Great Aunt Pony, er, Karen.

Kisses

The Bridge Retirement Home
After dinner we went over to see some people who were VERY excited to meet baby Olympia: her Grandma Pony's friends at The Bridge.

Here's Mac, a very longtime friend of the family

And Mary, another close friend of the family:

Grandma Pony didn't hesitate to show her off to everyone else who was in the dining room at the time. The place absolutely glowed while she was there. Nothing like a little baby to brighten up people's day. (Alright, a great big baby)

Part IIX: Saturday, March 7

Yep, she still sleeps like this.

Nom! Delicious!

Here she gets a talkin' to from her Great Grandmother.

Here she listens intently to advice from her Papa (probably something about shooting a puck.)

She is teething and only wants to chew on hands (her own or others) and never on toys we buy her specified for the activity.

In the evening, both sides of Olympia's family met at the Readings for dinner. She wore her new Bulldogs dress for the occasion.

Part VII: Friday, March 6

We took Oly to El Gitano and showed her what a glorious place a Mexican Restaurant is.

She finally got to meet her Aunt Stephanie!

Oly was a big fan, and it wasn't just because of the polka dots.
(Although she thought those were also very awesome)

Admiring her Grandpa:

That night we went over to our friends Paul and Leanne Woodmansee's house and had dinner with them as well as friends Kyle and Anna Kingshott (Shoutout! Email me any better pictures you guys have). The light in the house was nice and low- perfect for a mellow evening- but bad for cameras. Every picture is blurry.

Oly wasn't on her worst behavior for Paul and Leanne-she didn't scare them too badly. Their first baby is due this summer. Here we are looking at pictures of other babies on the internet, everyone's favorite pastime:

Part VI: Silly Grandmom!

On the way back from the City of Oly, we showed off the baby to Grandpa Dave's coworkers. They were so impressed.

We made a stop at Grandma Pony's so she could have a bite of baby too.

Then the real attraction of the day: Olympia met her Great Grandmom who was christened Silly Grandmom by cousin Lucy a few years ago. The name fits.

They are big fans of each other.
